Scenario
Let's say you operate an acme.com domain that has four servers...
- Two web servers at www1.acme.com and www2.acme.com
- A mail server at mail.acme.com
- A database server at db.acme.com
- receive alerts if any of these servers go down or becomes unresponsive
- receive alerts if the db server is about to run out of disk space or has excessive load
- restart processes via email, IM, SMS, or phone if any of the above problems occur

Installing the Remote Agent on a server allows both performing remote actions (like restarting a process) and pushing performance data to Trendics (like diskspace, load, etc).
